Tucked into the rolling terrain of Westlake Hills, this backyard transformation turned a steep, underutilized slope into a striking multi-level outdoor space that works with the land rather than against it. The design centers on a custom horizontal cedar privacy screen that spans the full length of the property, creating a warm, architectural backdrop against the natural Hill Country hillside. Large format limestone pavers set in black decomposed granite lead the eye across the lower terrace, while poured concrete steps rise through the grade change with clean, deliberate lines. Drought-tolerant yucca and climbing jasmine bring softness to the hardscape without demanding water or maintenance. The result is a backyard that feels both designed and completely at home in the Texas Hill Country.
