Bee Cave Backyard Under the Oaks
Designed to take full advantage of a mature live oak canopy, this Bee Cave backyard was transformed into a multi-zone outdoor living space that feels just as inviting at dusk as it does in the middle of the afternoon. A charcoal composite deck anchors the space off the back of the home, centering a modern concrete linear fire table within a generous seating arrangement strung with overhead Edison lights that carry warmth deep into the yard. Tucked beneath the largest oak, a custom cedar pergola frames a hanging bed swing set on a circular flagstone patio, creating a quiet retreat within the larger space. A winding flagstone pathway guides you along the side yard through lush planting beds and low landscape lighting, opening to a curved synthetic turf island edged in limestone that gives the yard a soft, organic shape. Cedar privacy screens define the boundaries without closing the space in. Every element of this backyard was positioned around the trees rather than in spite of them.
