Driftwood Garden Estate
Set on a private acreage property carved out of the Texas Hill Country, this Driftwood project was designed at a scale that matches the land itself. A sweeping concrete driveway connects every element of the property, lined along its length with a series of uniform raised planting beds that establish a sense of order against the surrounding native scrub. The centerpiece of the design is a formal circular garden positioned behind the home, built from concentric rings of cream limestone block raised beds arranged in a mandala pattern around a central planting circle. Four flagstone pathways divide the rings into quadrants, giving the garden both visual structure and practical access from every angle. Black decomposed granite fills the pathways between the beds, keeping the palette clean and cohesive. A covered timber pavilion with an attached outdoor prep station sits adjacent to the garden, grounding the space as a working, living part of the property. From above, the geometry of the circular garden reads like something deliberate and enduring, because it is.
